Wherever food is cooked and eaten, waste is also produced. The SV Group Germany wants to avoid this wherever possible. For this reason, we are also a member of "United against Waste", an association that has been pursuing the goal of creating a broad awareness of food waste in Germany since 2012 and motivating everyone to take personal responsibility. At SV Group Germany, we were able to almost halve our waste compared to 2014 and are continuing to work on producing as little waste as possible in the future.
The SV Group Germany is constantly working to reduce its environmental impact along the entire value chain. And we are thinking outside the box. From purchasing to disposal.
In between, our guests enjoy freshly produced food - tastily prepared by our chefs. After all, enjoyment and environmental protection go hand in hand.
The careful use of resources has been on our minds for a long time. Our Swiss parent company set up an environmental department back in the early 1990s. Our commitment to the environment has continued to develop in leaps and bounds. Today, a large number of our operations are certified for environmentally friendly and resource-conserving work, and we see our commitment to sustainability as a consistent process. We are guided by international standards and recommendations from environmental associations, develop measures together with customers and suppliers and undergo internal environmental audits. Our employees play a central supporting role in this process.
The package of measures is constantly being developed further. For example, the consistent review of internal processes, reduction of wet waste, recycling of used grease, optimized purchasing and processing. In the area of cleaning, we scrutinize cleaning agents as well as processes and technology (e.g. dishwashers).
Social commitment is important to us. We do this on the one hand through the SV Foundation and on the other hand here on site with our team as the SV Group at the Düsseldorf trade fair.
Through the SV Foundation, we support company-wide projects that promote healthy and affordable nutrition. Balanced nutrition for the general population - children, young people, women and men of all ages - that is our goal.
The SV Group team at Messe Düsseldorf is involved on site with its own projects. Here, people get involved and participate. Regionally, locally and concretely. We show our commitment in the greater Düsseldorf area and the neighboring Ruhr region.
We are currently involved in the Fast Monday in aid of the Ronald McDonald Foundation in Essen and the Advent calendar of the Lions Club Düsseldorf-Rheinuferpromenade in aid of the Düsseldorf children's hospice Sterntaler.
